From October through May we meet on the third Saturday of the month for a dinner and cultural program.  The dinner is prepared by our Norwegian Chef Stein and the program focuses on an aspect of Norwegian culture. Past programs have included:

  • Norwegian Folk Music
  • American Soldiers in the Norwegian Resistance in WWII
  • Music of Edward Grieg
  • Genealogy helps and hints
  • Life and Art of Edward Munch
  • Kroting
  • …….and lots more.

Here we heard about Kroting — a folk art form where women would mix chalk and milk then paint the inside of their homes in geometric patterns.  Then we tried our hand at this uniquely Norwegian art form.
